Overview - TubeMaestro is a PC application which runs on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista 32bit. Using TubeMaestro you can quickly and simply claim refunds for delayed journeys; update your Twitter account by Tweeting to your heart's content; display the London Underground Tube line status with any associated delay messages; view platform Departure Boards to see how often the Tube trains are actually running "down below"; view a tube map for planning your journey and much more.....

Tube Refunds - By clicking the "Click4Refund" button at the top of the main window you can quickly, with just a few mouse clicks, claim back a refund for a delayed Tube journey. This feature works with the Transport For London refunds website and the profiles you have set up for yourself within TubeMaestro. To help decide if your delayed journey qualifies for a refund please see the TFL Customer Charter which can be found on their website. As of 9th June 2009, if you are delayed by 15 minutes or more on a Tube journey you can claim a refund under the above mentioned Customer Charter.

Help - Having this level of undergound information really helps travellers as they can get up to the second tube line status information which includes tube line closures information too. Very often when there are tube problems travellers only find out when they have gone downstairs to find huge queues of people due to the tube chaos. It is much better to use some tube status software such as TubeMaestro to be informed of problems before leaving to travel and thus put the traveller in a better position to re-plan their journey.

Preferences - There are a range of preferences which can be set to allow TubeMaestro to work in the way you want as shown by the following screen shot of the preferences window:

Preferences window

These options are explained below:
Bullet Lines displayed This is where the tube lines can be chosen for display from a list. Only those lines chosen are displayed on the main window.
Bullet Refresh interval This is the setting which controls how often the information is updated. The values set is in minutes and can range from 10 to 59 inclusive.
Bullet Start with Windows If this option is chosen then TubeMaestro will start when a user logs into the PC.
Bullet Minimize to tray Choosing this option will minimize the main window to the icon tray typically found in the lower right corner of the Windows desktop.
Bullet Show button on taskbar The button shown on the taskbar on the bottom of the screen can be hidden or shown using this option.
Bullet Always on top By using this option the main window can be made to stay on top of all other open windows on the desktop. This allows the current status to be viewed even when working within other applications.
Bullet Confirm exit It is possible to prevent accidentally exiting the application using this option.
Bullet Proxy server settings Often a PC will be connected to a network which is behind a corporate firewall or proxy server. TubeMaestro allows the inclusion of the appropriate credentials to connect to the internet through the firewall or proxy server.
Bullet Automatic update checks New versions of TubeMaestro will be made available from time to time. Using this setting, TubeMaestro is told whether to check for new versions automatically or not. If the non-automatic option is chosen, then it is possible to manually check for a new version at-will.
Bullet Click4Refund Settings Use this button to open the window displaying the Click4Refund profile information. Using this window you can set up your name, address, ticket and journey details which will be used when you need to claim a refund for a delayed journey.
Bullet Twitter Settings Use this button to open the window displaying the Twitter authentication information. Using this window you can set up your login and password for your Twitter account. This allows you to Tweet simply by opening the Tweet window and typing your Tweet update message.
